Strategic Urban Design and Landscape Architecture
Urban Design Framework, Urban renewal and Community Consultation
The Masterplan outlines the vision for the future of Heidelberg West Business Park (HWBP), providing guidance on preferred outcomes for land use, built form, public realm, transport, parking, sustainability and cultural objectives as well as outlining proposed actions, staging and an implementation strategy.
Mesh, in collaboration with Banyule City Council, developed an innovative masterplan to revitalise Heidelberg West Business Park (HWBP) into a 21st-century innovation precinct within the La Trobe National Employment and Innovation Cluster (NEIC). Leveraging its proximity to La Trobe University the masterplan lays out a framework for its transition from 20th century industrial business park to a sustainable, knowledge economy focussed innovation precinct. The vision focuses on enhancing public amenities, infrastructure and sustainability, aiming to create a greener, more innovative employment precinct. A clear implementation strategy identifies capital works and ‘catalyst’ projects such as improved connectivity with new streets, an upgraded Waterdale Road, a 2km ‘Green Loop’ shared path and three innovation and mobility hubs to support the precinct’s growth.
