Landscape Architecture

Service provided

Preparation of town planning landscape drawings that include the design of a series of terraces and a generous active rooftop.

Focal Point

Maximising greening opportunities across each level to provide informal outdoor green spaces for short breaks and meetings, supported by a large rooftop for larger gatherings and/or more privacy.

What we did

A series of green terraces, connecting each level to the green surrounds of the site and promoting biophilic design. The vision for each terrace is to provide a balance of dense and lush podium planting with opportunities for a range of uses, such as; custom seating, loose and movable furniture, outdoor dining, areas for breaks, gathering spaces, outdoor meetings rooms, and many more. The design of each custom element moves to encourage occupants to work outdoors to promote healthier working environments. The green rooms will further create opportunity to increase the biodiversity of the site via planting that attracts a range of wildlife. The rooftop is envisioned as a series of ‘rooms’ that will provide a diversity of spaces and allow for multiple scales of meetings and gatherings, as well as informal spill out space. Nestled in the southeastern corner, a shaded entertainment area will comprise of a paved gathering space that can double as an outdoor cinema or screen for presentations, an entertainment station including bar fridge, BBQ and a banquet style dining table and chairs. The lawn area to the north will take advantage of the site’s sun aspect, creating an informal space to sun lounge, meet and/or have lunch. To the west, the footpath is lined with two long high-table work desks with built-in power and USB points. The timber area to the south consists of loose furniture and a feature concrete seating edge. This space can host a separate medium sized gathering or become and extension space from the main entertainment area.
